Book Vending Machine Size Compatibility
Measure book dimensions, weight and packaging, then check loading, release, collection and cabinet access before approving an assortment.
Measure the actual sale or reward unit
Record each sample book’s height, width, thickness and weight, including any wrapping or protective cover. Identify paperback, hardback and other formats separately. Use samples from the intended assortment rather than treating a nominal paper size as the complete fit specification.
Ask the supplier to relate the sample list to the proposed compartment and delivery arrangement. An advertised book capacity is not evidence that every format in the list will fit.
Observe loading, release and collection
Agree how the samples will be loaded and follow them through selection, release and collection. Look at the condition of the cover, spine and corners after the cycle and record cases needing staff assistance. Keep the original test record even when a later adjustment succeeds.
Ask for observations at the intended loading arrangement, including the last remaining book where relevant. Do not extrapolate from a different title or a single unrecorded demonstration.
Separate cabinet dimensions from product fit
Obtain the dimensions and access clearances for the offered configuration. Review delivery, door opening, replenishment and collection access with the site team. Ask the responsible installer to specify the fixing arrangement for that location.
A book fitting inside a compartment does not establish a suitable installation. Keep the sample-fit decision and the site-placement decision as separate entries in the project record.
Control changes to the assortment
Keep a tested list tied to the machine configuration and note any settings or compartment changes. Ask what needs retesting when book thickness, cover, wrapping or supplier changes. Define who approves a new title before it is loaded.
Send the sample dimensions, book photographs you are authorised to share, location and expected assortment changes on WhatsApp. The next useful step is a documented sample test, not a capacity estimate based only on a cabinet image.
